Summit Soccer was established in 1993 as classic Play-By-Mail (PBM) football management game that offered all the basic options, like selecting lineup, tactics for next game, transfer deals, etc. But unlike most of the PBM games of the genre Summit Soccer is still active, 27 years later. Of course the game has changed with time, today it offers not only the classic PBM model, where you send your turn sheet and receive match report via post, but also PBeM model (data is transferred via e-mail instead) or mix of those two models.
Of course since PBM model is the main part of the game the number of rounds played each month is only 3 (each turn costs about 3 pounds and takes 10 days to process). You can send your turn sheet via e-mail, you can receive match report via e-mail, but still the classic post sets the interval between rounds.
Current version of the game offers some additional options, like providing policing to control crowd during the match, improving stadium facilities or hiring club employees (coach, doctor, scout, promotion officer, youth team scout, groundskeeper).
