Premier Manager 3 was the most advanced version of the Amiga game, although it was based on the same old scenario of British games: start in the amateur Vauxhall Conference and fight for the promotion to higher divisions. To achieve it we had a lot of options to fiddle with - from training, through the transfers to improvement of our stadium.
It does not sound like a lot, but when you dive into the screen you soon realize Premier Manager 3 was really advanced game: plenty of stadium improvement / expansion options, signing sponsorship deals, setting ticket prices, insure your players, give them bonus to motivate them, hire some staff (assistant manager, coaches, specialist coaches, youth coach, scouts), set up tactics (up to a point in which you decide where your players should be according to zone in which the ball is), negotiate transfer and player contracts.
What is more the options were made a bit complicated at some points, f.e. the transfer negotiations were made in rounds, in which each team could put up an offer (that is visible to others), but at the end the player made the decision where he actually wants to go (which made transfers really tough for amateur conference managers).
The match engine and match presentation were not really that great (stop motion animation), but additional info was giving enough information to manage the team and make decisions.
Premier Manager 3 was not an easy game to like, the seasons tended to drag on and it took a lot of patience to take care of all the details in the club, but at the same time it hard not to appreciate the wide range of options.
