Classic Championship Manager inspired a lot of games, some of them gained a lot of recognition, some of them did not meet the expectations, but it is not hard to spot the influence. Euro League Manager was one of such titles, published at the same time on Commodore Amiga and PC computers, simulating three countries (England, Italy and Spain) plus a fantasy league (consisting of clubs from those three countries).
The basic concept was similar to Championship Manager - you run a club in one of those leagues, try to avoid the relegation or hope to fight for promotion, there were some interesting options (f.e. option of bank loan, training plan or extension of some of the elements of your stadium), but the least advanced was the main part of the game. Match engine was rather simple, the animations describing goal attempts did not explained much, the player statistics were minimal. To make things less clear the interface was a disastrous mixture of completely different elements, f.e. on most of the screens text was a button, but on some they looked like buttons, on some just like text, but to confuse users the main screen (with your office) works in completely different way, with active zones (similar to those in Anstoss). The problem was that the cursor did not highlighted the fact that you are over active zone or where this zone leads to. Player data were nice, but again interface made it rather difficult to reach the info you need to set up the team or make a substitution during the game.
Overall a simple game inspired by Championship Manager, but nowhere near the level of original. The game had some nice elements, but in general seemed chaotic and not properly tested by the creators.
